Scandinavia meets the Mediterranean on a refined garden terrace
The brief
Our client came to us asking for their tired and unused elevated garden space to be turned into a place where they could sit and relax, more like a refined terrace. A place where they could eat and drink al fresco while entertaining friends and family – especially on a warm summer’s day.
Our solution
We began with a thorough removal job, disposing of ageing decking, bushes, brickwork, deep roots and old fencing. After levelling the space, we selected eye-catching Scandinavian horizontal-slatted fencing, granite tiles laid in a brick bond pattern, and bespoke artificial topiary hedges that would provide privacy while being low maintenance.
We also added Wi-Fi controlled lights (operated via a smartphone app), as well as new wooden garden furniture, which we enhanced with some bespoke cushions and re-upholstered sofa sections.
From the rubble emerged a contemporary new garden terrace full of sunlight. Our client was thrilled with the result, and they now spend every opportunity outdoors. Pimms, ice and a slice anyone?
