Interior Design in Solihull

A Town in the Country.

Solihull grew up as a market town and still has a bit of that town-in-the-country feel. Around the old High Street and St Alphege church there are genuinely old buildings, including timber-framed Tudor ones like the Manor House and the George, the suburbs are full of handsome 1920s and 1930s homes with a lot of Tudor revival, and out towards Knowle and Dorridge you find everything from period cottages to large modern houses. Whatever kind you have, the question is the same: how do we make the most of it for the way you live now?

The best projects here happen when we do them together. You know how you want to live, what you love about your home and what quietly drives you mad about it. We bring the eye, the technical know-how and the team to make it happen. The homes we are proudest of always come out of that back and forth, so we ask plenty of questions and we want you involved the whole way. It works best as a proper partnership.

Homes of different ages have their own quirks, and it helps to understand them early. Andy spent over twenty years on the technical side of commercial buildings before moving into interiors, so he can read how a place is built, where the structure will let you open up, and where the budget will actually change how it feels. Whether it is a between-the-wars house that needs opening up or a newer build that needs better light, sorting that out first is what keeps the whole thing enjoyable rather than stressful later.

Chapter Seven Design is led by Andy and Joe Smith, with a trusted team of trades and makers behind every project. On a home you are still living in, Joe is the one who keeps everything moving and easy on you, so the months of work feel organised and, honestly, good to be part of. The people you meet at the start are the people who see it through.

We take on full home renovations across Solihull and focused work on the rooms that matter most, from kitchens to bedrooms. We also work next door in Knowle and across the wider Warwickshire area, so we know this part of the world well and how its best homes are put together.

A lot of people come to us when their home just is not working the way they live. Whether that is better flow between rooms, storage that finally makes sense or a space that feels more like you, we build the plan around what matters most to you, and we care as much about how the house works day to day as how it looks.

If you have a Solihull home you would love to get right, bring us your ideas. We would love to hear them.
